Learner diaries 26-09-2009 // September 26th, 2009
This is the first week in which we will have to Study the Skills course. Prior to this class, I thought that leaning English was a very complicated task and was unsure how to progress, even though I’ve been studying for around eight years! However, through this course, specifically this week I have come to understand that learning English is not only about Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation but it also requires us to acquire other essential skills. In fact, some of my friends have always attainted a very high score for their exams, but they fail to communicate with others effectively because they can’t quite understand the meaning of others if they speak too quickly or use some colloquialisms, Sometimes we can express our thoughts through writing and can also retain information through reading, but in terms of communication it’s not always as expressive as spoken word. Someday perhaps I will study abroad in a country where English is the native tongue, although I must attain sufficient ability to communicate with my friends, teachers and other people, in order to gain enough confidence in my English ability.
We have two Study Skills classes a week, I thought this was possibly not enough. This week our teacher taught us some useful knowledge about lectures and note-taking, I have never done this before, so I feel a little sad because it’s difficult for me. Nevertheless, I believe that I will improve over a period of time.
National Day is drawing nearer; I hope that everybody will have a good time!
good grief…your log in english attracts me…so many new words to me in this article…and outstanding grammar you did…seems there’s really a long way of learning english better i have to walk on…guy, you are so great…and do your best on what you do…

国庆节可以去玩了
感谢大家的捧场，这段时间除了上课就是写作业，都没能好好休息一下，国庆的到来让我起死回生燃起了希望
我英语不太好，不然也不用这么累死累活的每天学习了，真后悔初中那会没听老爸的话早早出国去，我可不像kevin你是已经身在国外游手好闲过日子了，还得继续在巨大的局域网中挣扎度日。
特别感谢newcoin的关心，我现在是在读英国NCC的课程，以前连英文小说或者新闻都没怎么看过，这会用着英文教材让我很郁闷，生词真多呀，以前一直觉得能和老外们交流英语应该还算过的去了，这回可真被打击到了，不过好在还有一年时间去补救，恩，我会加油的！
